24 × 36 inches
acrylic and oil on canvas
When I became a mom of two, I found myself reflecting a lot on what is permanent and what is fleeting, and why it matters to pay attention to the present.
Our sweet second child, content and warm, was not a great sleeper, so we stumbled our way through those early months on fumes and pure joy. Despite our very real limitations, we learned to appreciate every small and ordinary moment. We were truly inhabiting the life we were living, creating a permanence of that season in our bones.
