36 × 24 inches
acrylic and oil on canvas
When things feel in flux, I find myself reaching for the familiar. Rewatching Gilmore Girls for the umpteenth time, eating Sour Patch Kids until my tongue develops that little rough patch in the middle, and painting in black & white.
After yet another life shift, I found myself going back to monochromatics. There is a freedom in returning to what I knew well and letting go of pressure to reinvent. Like a buoy in a sea of change, painting without color felt steady, giving me enough room to breathe and see things anew.
