In my mind, I knew that I would feel a lot of things towards my children. What I knew, and what I have come to struggle to fathom, is the great capacity and depths of love and joy my heart is capable of because of them.
There are ordinary days when my heart swells to fill the deepest corners. There are hard days when we fall and stumble towards grace and a steady heartbeat. In each circumstance, my heart finds a way to expand and envelop them in hope and compassion.
