The only good thing about not sleeping well is the chance to be up a little too early to see the sun peak up over the horizon. I always start off grumpy after nights of bad sleep, but my breath catches every time I witness the majesty of another day.
I have found that the ordinary things of life can truly be the most extraordinary in the right light—another sunrise, another sunset, countless meals around a worn dining room table, a cozy bed, a warm shower, things I never want to take for granted.
