To grieve is to learn healing, which leads to contentment. To mourn is to accept loss, which is to know what it is to rejoice again. The sooner we acknowledge the expanse of light waiting for us after the darkness, the sooner we can celebrate a full life well lived.

I once experienced a loss that almost broke my spirit. The most poignant of wisdoms I received was to live and breathe into the grieving as I needed, and to live and breathe into laughter anytime I could find it. It was an arduous process that formed a strength and resilience in me that I continue to lean into and learn from.
